Summer is coming to a close and it is time to kick off the 2019/2020 Alaska ASSP Luncheon sessions again! We will continue to meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Boulevard, Anchorage, AK 99508.
After networking with your peers and eating a great lunch, we will have an opportunity to listen to a presentation from our guest speaker, Tom Wilder, DHS Protective Security Advisor for Alaska. Tom will present the Active Shooter Preparedness Training using the “Run, Hide, Fight” model. The training will characterize the nature of the active shooter event, including some background and current trends. It will then cover response techniques, and finish with prevention options and discuss the pathway to violence that nearly all assailants follow. The training will take about an hour and is intended to be discussion-based; questions and feedback from the audience are encouraged.
