Chris Warner, CSP, SMS, OHST

I have the pleasure of being the Senior Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental Director for multiple subsidiaries of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC), including ASRC Energy Services and Little Red Services, both focused primarily on oil and gas support services.  I have been in the EH&S field for 20 years, having had my start in safety when I was approached to assist with the implementation of a behavior-based safety process with my employer at that time.  I found it rewarding to work with my team members to help identify at-risk behaviors that they may not even be aware of and work together to help find safer ways of doing their work.  The ASSP has continued to be an organization that provides a vast scope of knowledge, learning, and networking opportunities and I am excited to have the opportunity to help support our local chapter in carrying on this tradition.

April 2019 Luncheon/Technical Tour – CHANGE OF VENUE

Apr 01, 2019

Regarding the monthly Chapter luncheon planned for April 16, 2019, we will NOT be meeting at the BP Energy Center.  Instead, Taylor Crocker and Marty Freeman, from Chugach Electric Association (CEA), have agreed to host a technical tour of the Southcentral Power Plant at 5601 Electron Drive, Anchorage, AK 99519.

The tour is scheduled for April 16, 2019, at 11:30am.  To minimize the risk to operations at CEA and to AK ASSP members, the size of the tour group must be limited to 25 attendees.

CEA will be providing a pizza lunch for the attendees.  The tour will consist of a PowerPoint presentation and a walkaround tour of the facility.

Due to the limit of 25 attendees, it is essential for those that wish to attend to send an RSVP to Jon Johanson, AK ASSP President, at  RSVP’s for the tour will be granted on a first come, first serve basis.  Those that submit an RSVP to Jon will receive a reply acknowledging his/her status as an attendee for the tour or assignment to the stand-by list.  A stand-by list of attendees will be created for those that are not one of the first 25 to RSVP.  As attendees on the RSVP list cancel, individuals on the stand-by list will be notified via email.

Attendees of the tour are encouraged to dress appropriately.  Attendees are required to wear safety toed shoes and bring their own safety glasses and hard hats.

There is no cost for the tour.  Estimated length of the technical tour is 90 minutes.

Send your RSVP to your Chapter President, Jon Johanson, at as soon as possible to reserve your spot on the RSVP list.
